A brief music video that represents how life gives us numerous paths and doors to choose, yet we still stay restricted our comfort zones, disconnected from the real world. Thus, we suffer the repercussions of our decisions, regretting them forever.
THE LOCATION:
The park, a road, the school, a café, and a residence were the locations chosen for this sequence. To give the audience a sense of how the heroine acts at home, the scene opens with a shot of the protagonist at her house. The second scene was filmed in a park to represent how the protagonist was surrounded by a picturesque environment, yet still decided to be on her phone and within her comfort zone. The scenario on the road represents how the main character had the opportunity to advance and that a door was open for her, but her steps were halted till she lost that chance for a lifetime. Even though the exact location was not specified, the moment when the main character walks out the door was filmed in our school. This illustrates how the darkness is briefly penetrated before returning to obscurity again. The scenario, which is set in a café, demonstrates to the audience how lonely and isolated it can feel even in an environment where people and noise should be in abundance. This is because everyone is engaged in these artificial means of happiness.
PROPS:
The three props most frequently seen in this video are a cell phone, headphones, and a set of car keys. The mobile device symbolizes a person who is immersed in technology while being disconnected from the outside world. The protagonist is in her own zone, as evidenced by the headphones. Even in the part where she briefly takes off her headphones and hears the commotion, she quickly puts them back on. Therefore, the use of these items serves to illustrate how the figure has no connection to nature or the actual world. The audience is informed of the scene or incident that occurs because of the car by the keys in the second shot. This second shot alludes to an upcoming scene.
HAIR, MAKEUP, AND COSTUME:
The main character's makeup is quite light and natural. This demonstrates how carefree she is. Her shoulder-length, open hair is parted in the middle. Her hair also serves as a simple metaphor for the protagonist's carefree and casual lifestyle. The protagonist wears the same costume in all the scenes; a black and white shirt (kurta) with a blue pant. She wears a wristwatch as a representation of time. Time flies and it never waits for anyone. This black and white Kurta has two purposes, one that the protagonist is allowed to stand out in the natural surroundings. The black and white color also symbolizes balance, which the protagonist really needs in her life.
CAMERA ANGLES AND SHOTS:
Mid shot: The protagonist is framed from the waist up in the final scene on the road, which is a mid shot. This image also depicts the background scene. It connects the subject to the background, placing suspense and emphasis on the car approaching behind.
Long shot: The long shot is the scene in the park. The protagonist is covered from head to toe, along with her surroundings. This highlights how the subject, though implied by the song aspires to change, fails to connect with her environment.
Wide shot: The bench scene is a wide shot as it shows a broad view of the road and the park. It shows the grandeur of the surroundings.
Tilted camera angle: The shot of the doors in the school is a little slanted. This shows a sense of disorientation. It shows how the protagonist is lost and doesn't know how to find her path.
High angle: The mobile was filmed at a high angle because the scene was taken from above the subject. The second scene, in which the protagonist picks up her phone but forgets to pick up the keys, is another scene that uses the high angle shot. This demonstrates her dependence on her phone.
Pan camera movement: Pan camera movement was used for the scene shot in the park. This shows the surroundings around the protagonist in a better way.
Reverse zoom: This technique was used for the last scene where the subject is zoomed in on while moving the camera. This creates a disorientating effect, symbolizing the adverse effects and uncertainty technological addition can bring about
Tilted camera shot: This technique was used in the scene with the doors. The camera was tilted slightly to create an off balance.
